Wine and Wheels Await in Atlanta

It’s been a long time coming. Atlanta finally has a world class car show to call their own. The 2016 Atlanta Concours d’Elegance débuts October 8-9 at the Château Élan Winery and Resort in Braselton, Georgia, just north of Atlanta. The weekend promises to have something for everyone.

Hopes of Becoming “The Masters” of Car Shows

The event is the brain child of co-founders Harry Krix and Bill Wallet who want the Atlanta Concours d’Elegance to be for car enthusiasts what The Masters is for golfers. Whether it becomes a yearly pilgrimage for auto lovers is still in the stars, although it is already shaping up to be a phenomenal weekend down South.

Don Panoz, Father of ALMS, Honored

This year’s honoree is Don Panoz, former pharmaceutical entrepreneur and one of endurance racing’s most influential people. He founded the American Le Mans Series (ALMS) in 1998 to bring European-style endurance racing to the U.S and went on to establish the Petite Le Mans sports car race. Today, he is the managing partner of Panoz DeltaWing Racing and chairman of the DeltaWing Technology Group.

Win a Chance to Design Your Own Panoz Sports Car

The Honoree Gala takes place Saturday night with an auction benefitting the Alzheimer’s Association. One lucky patron will win the opportunity to work with the Panoz design team and create a one-of-a-kind grand touring sports car. Picture yourself behind the wheel of that dream automobile!

So Many Beautiful Cars!

With 180 best in class and Concours quality cars expected to grace the fairways of one of Château Élan’s four premiere golf courses, there will be enough automotive eye candy to give any car enthusiast a sugar rush. With the beautiful countryside as a backdrop, this event offers plenty of opportunities for some incredible photos.

Run the Track at Road Atlanta

The schedule boasts something for everyone. A driving tour Saturday morning heads to Road Atlanta for a few quick laps around the course. After setting a few track records, drivers will head over to the host city of Braselton to be treated to a “Taste of Braselton” lunch before returning to Château Élan.

Is Your Car Concours Worthy?

Do you know what makes a car Concours worthy? Organizers have set up a trio of Jaguars to demonstrate the different stages of restoration required to qualify for Concours level competition. A panel of experts will be on hand to answer any questions you may have about your own restoration.

Something for Every Appetite

While you are busy feeding your automotive cravings at the Atlanta Concours d’Elegance, be sure to sample some of the award winning culinary treats event planners have lined up. Chefs from six of Atlanta’s top restaurants will serve their signature dishes. Don’t forget to sample some of Château Élan’s delicious wines, too.

Atlanta Rolling Out Welcome Mat Oct. 8-9

The Atlanta Concours d’Elegance doesn’t feel like a newcomer on the show circuit. They seem to have everything in hand to throw one incredible weekend. If wine, wheels and a wonderful setting doesn’t have you heading South for this great event then maybe you should look for another hobby. Atlanta is rolling out the welcome mat and it looks like they are doing it with style. Congrats.
