The Atlanta Concours d’Elegance Foundation

Third Year is the Charm for Atlanta as Concours Gains Reputation for Innovation and Integrity and launches the first Concours focusing on Restoring Mobility – People, Cars and Lives.

Having made a significant mark within the automotive community during its first two seasons while proving itself as a bona fide Concours recognized for highlighting a distinguished field of entries that include collectible vehicles of national merit, the Atlanta Concours d’Elegance is taking on an additional feat in its third year by adding a nonprofit status to both its mission and its outreach.

The establishment of the Atlanta Concours d’Elegance Foundation adds a nonprofit status to the growing show. The Foundation is dedicated to restoring mobility to the lives of people—both civilians and veterans with disabilities, and channeling outreach to enhance the hobby of collecting and restoring classic cars. This year’s event, slated for September 29th and 30th at Chateau Elan Winery and Resort will expand its community efforts to support Shepherd Center with the creation of an all-new mobility area. The mobility area will not only showcase vendors and sponsors bringing utilities such as all-terrain wheelchairs and adapted automobiles, but it will also provide an up-close look at accessible vehicles and equipment for people who have mobility challenges or disabilities.

The Foundation also supports McPherson College, the only school in America to provide a bachelor’s degree in automotive restoration by providing assistance with internships in museums and restoration shops, scholarships, and other programs. Programs like this will ensure the long-term viability of collector cars and the hobby of collecting the rare and beautiful cars of the past.

We are proud to also support our Veterans who will be very visible on the show field this year. Making up almost 75% of our volunteers at the 2018 show, veterans from many branches of military service will greet you at the entrance and assist you on the show field throughout the weekend.
