Atlanta, Georgia, May 11, 2018 –   A strategic partnership between The Atlanta Concours d’Elegance and the Highlands Motoring Festival, a true alliance between two entities who both focus on classic cars, yet their events are very different.  The mission of both organizations is to perpetuate the hobby of classic car collecting and preservation, and to give back to their communities by supporting local non profit organizations.

With their foundations of common interests, this alliance is perfect for collaboration around the selection of automobiles, alignment with sponsors, and sharing of ideas.  The demographics of the both event’s spectators are very similar. It is a win win for both.

Although their missions are similar, two very different paths have been taken by their Founders to meet their goals:

The Atlanta Concours d’Elegance is a formal Concours held annually in the Fall at Chateau Elan Winery & Resort. The two-day weekend event hosts entrants with classic automobiles from 1900 to1968 –  very rare, very expensive, and from throughout the United States.  These cars must be in Concours condition— as if they had just rolled off the assembly line. In most cases, they have been fully restored or preserved.  They are judged by experts in each type and era of their manufacturer.  Two hundred cars and thousands of spectators enjoy cars rarely seen displayed amidst the emerald green fairways of the Chateau Elan Golf Course.   The weekend includes a show field reception, guided tours of the Concours show field, best of the best food trucks, a Tour to Road Atlanta, and a Classics and Coffee event- just to name a few of the exciting things happening at the show.

Over the past ten years, The Highlands Motoring Festival, a local car show, has grown to become one of the south’s most popular automotive events.  The resort town of Highlands NC is a sparkling jewel during the month of June.  Its high elevation ensures cool temperatures and its rich scenery includes mountains and national forests.  The main event of the weekend show is the Classic Car show at Kelsey-Hutchinson Founders park.  The show draws more than 125 automobiles aging from 1900 to 1990, and over 2500 visitors.  This is a judged show and spectators can expect to see classic, unique, and very limited-edition cars in eight classes.  An evening of music follows the show.  The weekend also includes an annual Monte Carlo night at the Highlands Falls Country Club, a one lap Mountain Tour, and the Cars and Coffee finale closing the show.
